Details
Your humble servant Aventurine at your service.
A senior manager of the IPC's Strategic Investment Department, though I suppose that might as well be on pause. Right now, I'm a senior manager at Phoenix Casino, instead - why don't you stop by sometime during the evening, and you might as well be met with a bunny surprise.
Meet new people, form new bonds, and have fun. Isn't that what everyone comes to casino-resort for?
Glad you asked! Though I'm not sure how much it counts for a talent, I have quite the impressive luck. No matter the gamble, the danger, the puzzle ahead of me - if I bet it all on my "luck", then I know I'll come out of it the winner.
Though if you want actual talents, then you will have to get to know me and find out yourself.
I haven't yet read all the books in the universe, or watched all the movies, or listened to all the songs, or eaten all the food... So it's hard to say I have a proper favorite, isn't it?
Are we finally addressing the elephant in the room? Let's see...
Someone kind, interesting, intelligent, who enjoys a good conversation. Is that too broad? Then perhaps I'm just that easy to charm, haha!
I find wine suits my palate better, but I won't turn down the offer for beer if you'd like.
.02 CLOWNS OR MIMES
No real preference. If they're both meant to entertain, isn't the one who makes me laugh the better one?
.03 SHOWER OR BATH
A friend of mine would stand by a quality bath time, and after spending so much time with him, I've got to say the same!
.04 PIRATES OR NINJAS
Between a group of people known for freedom and rule-breaking, and those bound to loyalty... Is this a question about which I find more interesting, which I would want to be, or which of these sentiments I relate to the most?
.05 TITS OR ASS
Does it really matter, if both have their own appeal? Or rather, perhaps I should say it truly depends on the person.
.06 COFFEE OR TEA
A proper morning starts with a good cup of coffee. It's essential to any corporation worker like me.
.07 SPICY OR SWEET
Though both have their appeals, sweets are easier on my tongue. Perhaps it's hard to let go of my inner child? Haha!
.08 SUMMER OR WINTER
Most of my childhood was spent under the scalding hot sun of the desert, and though I'm quite used to it, I can't help but enjoy the comforting cold of winter nights the most. Besides, sharing a warm blanket with someone isn't so bad of a way to spend a winter day, is it?
.09 LEATHER OR LACE
Each kind of fabric has a time and a place to belong. Leather for something more formal, perhaps even casual. Lace, for a more intimate encounter. But both do suit me, don't you think?
10. ROUGH SEX OR GENTLE SEX
Am I on top, am I on the bottom? Those things are necessary to know for a proper answer. Whether you want me to be nice or not, whether you want to be nice or not... Knowing your partner's preferences is what matters the most, isn't it?

But it seems like a weird thing to lie about, especially when there's no consequences for The House for any of it.
no subject
Are you worried about what crime going unpunished in here might mean for the general justice of the resort? ( like ipc employees have any room to talk, but. )
no subject
Not really. I mean, I am, but if they couldn't be trusted to do anything about bunny killings or vandalism, my expectations are nonexistent. The House hasn't said anything by now, so I doubt they'll say anything at all. Even though the absence of punishment is common knowledge, this place hasn't gotten turned completely upside down. I'd like to think people aren't all depraved in that way.
The report stated that The House can revive the dead. I'm not trying to be optimistic— I'm sure there's a reason that isn't benevolent for keeping it a secret. It's just a little wild that they're not advertising it. Like a license to take their indulgences to even bigger extremes.
no subject
Death is always a topic no one wants to hear or talk about. The House and the Family probably share that similarity, though the Family made sure to reassure everyone that death isn't possible, while the House just prefers not to speak of it. Why worry anyone about something people naturally fear when their nice resort is meant to focus so much on sexual intimacy? That just tells me they don't think death is a kink.
( said in jest, all things considered. )
They don't speak of it because they don't want people to die, and not in the way you would think. The House can revive the dead, but not without consequences to whoever died, and not to the murderer. Their own unique way to say don't do it again, like it's the victim's fault at all. But that's just the House for you.

And everything is a service, isn't it? If the IPC had the tech, they'd prolly do the exact same thing. But—
[ she pauses, and considers what he said. And considers this a little longer, letting the gears turn in her head. ]
I only heard that the victim was revived. Where'd you hear that they were punished for getting killed?
no subject
which almost makes this conversation funny, if topaz hadn't just asked the million credits question. it's an easy puzzle for her to solve, as aventurine reaches for some of the salad. )
I guess you can consider this a pop quiz. ( more roleplay, if only to shield his hesitance from speaking up about the truth. it used to be such an easy throw-away sentiment in the past, and yet. ) Information flows fast here, if you know where to look, but even Hiyori, who heard so much, didn't have this piece of information. How do you think I know this, then?
no subject
The informant who witnessed the murder didn't see the aftermath. Neither did the murderer.
So, you either got the info directly from the victim yourself or you were the victim.

no subject
And if you saw something THAT important, you would've contacted me.
[ except now she isn't sure if he would. ]
...right?
no subject
( because this needs to be specified. it's about the same sentiment he had, when aventurine sworn the stonehearts' oath of treasuring his cornerstone with his own life. he certainly didn't exactly lie about that.
still, aventurine doesn't look at her, for this. )
But I did not. Neither was I the murderer, of course. So what's left?
no subject
Seriously? Are you crazy?
no subject
People do certainly call me such. But that's what I do, isn't it? Risk-chaser, always betting all or nothing at all. There was only one way to find out the answer we all wanted to know.
( and if it means putting his life right on the line for that answer, he would gladly do it. )
But I'm here, aren't I? Which means I won my gamble, as I always do.
no subject
Selfishly, she panics, only to immediately recognize her own selfishness. ]
But you said yourself there was a price— more like a penalty. Are you forbidden from discussing it?
[ It could be a situation like her rank up, where it can't be discussed. ]
no subject
because lying has a side-effect, one of the 'penalties' he got from dying. the feeling, this time, starts on his right arm, and aventurine strips off the right side of his lab coat to show it to topaz. sure enough, against the pale of his skin, there's heart-shaped rashes growing slowly. )
I'm not, which could mean they don't care whether people die or not, but there's more consequences to the victim than the murderer. That would only make people more willing to engage in violent acts anyway, so figures the House enjoys it somehow. Well, getting rashes whenever I lie is pretty inconvenient, so I can't say it makes me very enthusiastic to try again.
no subject
With a deep breath, she suppresses her glee and focuses on the conversation. ]
Is that the only thing?
no subject
It is. Figures the House just wanted to laugh at me, considering my modus operandi.
( - he lies, again. aventurine can tell the rashes have grown worse from that, his skin burning and uncomfortable, but even then, he does not scratch at it. )
Other than that, it's hardly different from Penacony. ( a half-lie, in part, because he had gone through unbearable pain before he died here, whilst none of his attempts back in penacony truly hurt at all, ) The doctors and nurses tried to convince me I didn't actually die, and that I was just close to it, but I know they're lying. Which just means the House isn't actively trying to stop people from dying, but they look down on it about as much as the Family does.
( who would ever truly have thought that the house and the family share any sort of similarities, huh. )
And as far as I know, my killer suffered no punishment for it whatsoever.
no subject
Is he really that unaffected? He isn't telegraphing any signs in his expression or body language that he was traumatized.
His killer getting away with their crime is frustrating, unacceptable. ]
So they'll allow any indulgence.
