Details
Your humble servant Aventurine at your service.
A senior manager of the IPC's Strategic Investment Department, though I suppose that might as well be on pause. Right now, I'm a senior manager at Phoenix Casino, instead - why don't you stop by sometime during the evening, and you might as well be met with a bunny surprise.
Meet new people, form new bonds, and have fun. Isn't that what everyone comes to casino-resort for?
Glad you asked! Though I'm not sure how much it counts for a talent, I have quite the impressive luck. No matter the gamble, the danger, the puzzle ahead of me - if I bet it all on my "luck", then I know I'll come out of it the winner.
Though if you want actual talents, then you will have to get to know me and find out yourself.
I haven't yet read all the books in the universe, or watched all the movies, or listened to all the songs, or eaten all the food... So it's hard to say I have a proper favorite, isn't it?
Are we finally addressing the elephant in the room? Let's see...
Someone kind, interesting, intelligent, who enjoys a good conversation. Is that too broad? Then perhaps I'm just that easy to charm, haha!
I find wine suits my palate better, but I won't turn down the offer for beer if you'd like.
.02 CLOWNS OR MIMES
No real preference. If they're both meant to entertain, isn't the one who makes me laugh the better one?
.03 SHOWER OR BATH
A friend of mine would stand by a quality bath time, and after spending so much time with him, I've got to say the same!
.04 PIRATES OR NINJAS
Between a group of people known for freedom and rule-breaking, and those bound to loyalty... Is this a question about which I find more interesting, which I would want to be, or which of these sentiments I relate to the most?
.05 TITS OR ASS
Does it really matter, if both have their own appeal? Or rather, perhaps I should say it truly depends on the person.
.06 COFFEE OR TEA
A proper morning starts with a good cup of coffee. It's essential to any corporation worker like me.
.07 SPICY OR SWEET
Though both have their appeals, sweets are easier on my tongue. Perhaps it's hard to let go of my inner child? Haha!
.08 SUMMER OR WINTER
Most of my childhood was spent under the scalding hot sun of the desert, and though I'm quite used to it, I can't help but enjoy the comforting cold of winter nights the most. Besides, sharing a warm blanket with someone isn't so bad of a way to spend a winter day, is it?
.09 LEATHER OR LACE
Each kind of fabric has a time and a place to belong. Leather for something more formal, perhaps even casual. Lace, for a more intimate encounter. But both do suit me, don't you think?
10. ROUGH SEX OR GENTLE SEX
Am I on top, am I on the bottom? Those things are necessary to know for a proper answer. Whether you want me to be nice or not, whether you want to be nice or not... Knowing your partner's preferences is what matters the most, isn't it?
ESTJ-A

no subject
Sunday, Stelle and someone named Gallagher.
What the last one described seemed in line with your plan.
[ the plan, that for them, had yet to be executed. ]
no subject
aventurine sits on the chair offered, trying to connect the many puzzles pieces in his mind. four months away from home is a long time. )
Well. If you didn't know me better, I'm sure you'd think I shared any of it while in Penacony. ( which he didn't, not even to ratio, because the walls have ears. ) How much of it does he know?
no subject
[ she's blunt about that. harsher than she means for it to be. His style is incongruous with hers (at least until they came here) and the way he dodges while seeming direct makes her lose patience, but he isn't what's wrong here. ]
There's been evidence guests have been pulled from different dimensions and time periods in the past, but what about the near-future?
[ What he did isn't the problem, it's what others might know about the situation that they themselves don't that makes her tense and uneasy. ]
no subject
( permanently died, which is the implication. death doesn't exist in penacony, and though he had given topaz a shard of his cornerstone for her to know when exactly the ipc would have a spot in the table that is penacony, his 'death' was never the point of his sacrifice, no matter how much he still wishes for it. )
But both of them answer the same question: time in our world hasn't stopped, if they have memories that we don't. So there's either more copies of us, or they really are from different universes. Which means the plan that Gallagher witnessed, the 'death' that Sunday says we suffered, and how I had intended to win over Penacony exist simultaneously in different branches of the Imaginary Tree.
( thank you dan heng for this knowledge, really. )
no subject
But you're right. Time isn't linear; and there's infinite places where it can branch off.
So, what now? From what I can tell, I doubt they'll sabotage us, since we're all in the same situation.
no subject
All we can do is try to find out the truth of what happened while we were gone. Or, should I say what will happen in our future? Sunday is out of the question no matter what, he will never trust us.
Gallagher... Something about him doesn't feel right to me. I have never heard of someone with that name being in Penacony.
You're more familiar with Stelle than I am, so she's our best bet, if you want to get answers out of her. I could tell what I remember and what she remembers differ. I had only met her twice, but she acted like we were familiar with each other.
( actual fr*ends, dare he say, which is a bit wild of a concept for him. )
Oh, there's one more. A Galaxy Ranger who goes by Acheron. She's an Emanator of Nihility, and likely my murderer. ( sorry, he's deliberately calling her that on purpose. ) I had intended to set her up as my enemy, but she was also acting familiar with me. Something happened after I died, if they don't mind the strings I pulled.
no subject
But she'd look great in a swimsuit— wait, focus on Aventurine]Gallagher mentioned being part of the Hounds. I was also sure our research on Penacony's security team was thorough.
[ But if they're not wrong, who is he, really? ]
I'll see what Stelle knows.
[ she squirms at the way he casually talks about his murderer and his death. Even with the shared understanding that death shouldn't be possible in the dreamscape, it's hard to wrap her head around. ]
Well, the important part is that that emanator isn't an enemy.
no subject
The Hounds? ( the confusion is very, very clear on his face. ) A better liar than Sunday, seems like. You talked to him more than I did. What's your reading of him?
no subject
Her head dips, her arrogant facade breaking down. Her voice gets softer, weighing each scrap of info, reviewing every convo line for line. ]
You're better at reading people than me. If I could show you video from my perspective, I would.
I don't think the details about what you did were wrong. But I don't think that's all of it. Even if it's hard for me to pick lies out, he definitely knows how to shut a convo down when he's not getting what he wants.
no subject
( even when he hasn't done anything yet, so many of them flocked around him, ready to call him out on the first suspicious thing he did. alas. he sighs. )
Then, how did he speak of me to you? Friendly, or hostile? My plans did involve making a little mess of their sweet Penacony, so I wouldn't be surprise if he holds contempt towards me.
no subject
And he's still willing to talk to me.
[ she shrugs. Even if she's risk-averse, she doesn't hate these odds. The situation isn't half-bad. ]
He did bring up the possibility that we're all dead.
no subject
( the irony here is sunday thinking he can lie to him about something so easily to disprove as the death of everyone in their world, considering the amount of people he has met here, but well. that's just mr. control freak sunday. )
... Do you think we could be missing memories?
( the infinitesimal chance they could be is still a chance nonetheless. )
no subject
Anything's possible. But does it make sense to you?
no subject
( the question simply lies in the fact other versions of them exist, out there. that wherever stelle, sunday, gallagher and acheron all came from, it's a penacony where neither of them had yet left.
aventurine sighs, feeling a headache slowly form. it's the disadvantage of not knowing that is the worst part of it. )
... Let me know what Stelle says, once you talk to her. Whether Sunday knows I've been bluffing the entire or not doesn't really matter. He's convinced both of us are dead. Knowing what happened in Penacony or not won't change how he sees the resort, and there's no reason to convince him otherwise, either way.
no subject
Or if we died, this place has the ability to revive people.
But I agree, their beliefs don't change anything. We're all still stuck here.
[ He's not the only one with a headache. She sighs, tilting her head up, as if some Aeon above could ease her troubled mind. ]
no subject
( but thinking about the house being able to bring back to dead is too scary of an idea to him, so he just tends to ignore that bit of information. )
But unlike us, he has the memory of being dead. Which gives the House even less reasons to take away our memories, and I don't believe anyone else has said anything about memory loss. The IPC has many enemies, but even this would feel too far-fetched.
no subject
But that still doesn't change how we're doing things. Will it make it easier or harder for you?
no subject
( though it also relies on what stelle has to say, he knows. there's too many what-ifs to really consider a straight route, but ultimately... he shakes his head. )
But I don't think it will be too much of an issue. We have been here long enough to know how the resort works, and we will find out sooner or later what happens when someone truly wins the game. What has happened back in Penacony in our absence or not isn't what matters right now. This isn't Penacony. We don't have to worry about it while we're here.
no subject
[ The thought of additional complications magnifies her annoyance and exhaustion. Low Risk, High Return will always be her style. The less challenges, the better. They've always been opposites, in that sense. The predictable response is a comfort, in its own way. ]
But you're right. There's no use worrying about all that stuff when we've still gotta deal with what The House throws at us. If there're new arrivals... a new event will prolly be happening soon. And if they're not repeating the featured suit... there's a fifty-fifty chance we'll be up next.
[ She hates those odds. ]
no subject
( not to scare her, or anything. it's mostly a bet, but one with some basis to back up his assumption. still, he knows she'd prefer to be able to prepare beforehand than to be caught off guard - all capable ipc employees are like that. or should be, at least. )
Diamonds was first, and they're a red suit. Then Clubs, a black suit. Nothing says the House follows a pattern, but I'm inclined to believe they will. If that's the case, Hearts will be next.
( and he's also not very happy about that, if his conversation with sasuke had been anything to go by. can they stop messing with his perfectly controlled emotions, damn. )
What do you want to do about it?
no subject
The same thing we did during the animal game. It's better to stay contained until we know how the game is affecting us.
[ They had a system. It worked. There's no reason to change it. ]
no subject
Alright. And if we don't get a warning like we did the past events, then make sure to stay inside. We can text each other for anything we need.
no subject
Considering the rebellion, I wouldn't be surprised if they do more to suppress the population going forward.
[ She shrugs. It's what the IPC would do. Not that she approves of it, she just understands the process. It's a thought exercise for now, at least until they're really oppressed. ]
no subject
( it would have been so much easier to deal with this if he had a representative of the house to speak with, much like he had with sunday. or maybe he'll just try to get some reasoning on how the house behaves from someone who has been in that position before. food for thought. )
I won't discard the idea the House is trying to distract us to more effectively suppress us, but at least we have time to prepare until the next game.
